VJ’s story begins in 1981, when Veikko, a shoemaker and orienteering enthusiast, could not find shoes suitable for his sport. Not long before he decided to make his own suitable shoes, which he designed specifically for challenging and slippery terrain. Veiko had a background in the footwear industry, which enabled him to set up his own shoe factory in his hometown of Orivesi, and so VJ was born. Soon after starting the company, we proved our skills to orienteers and extreme athletes by designing shoes that were exceptionally durable, durable and of high quality. Today, VJ still adheres to the same standards that were set years ago when the company was founded. Using state-of-the-art technology, high-quality materials and uncompromising values, we produce the best grip on the planet. The shoes have helped many athletes achieve their dreams and win world championships in a variety of cross-country sports such as trail running, OCR, downhill running and orienteering.
